AEO Insights
Track how AI search platforms mention and cite your brand, close visibility gaps with content, and measure trends over time with AEO Insights.
AI visibility in Grenseo answers a simple question: when buyers ask AI assistants about your niche, does your brand show up—and in what context?
The product probes real AI answers (for example ChatGPT with web search and Google AI Mode), stores results per project, and connects weak spots to your content planner so you can publish articles that improve citations over time.
Where to find it
In the Grenseo sidebar:
| Area | Page | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | AEO Insights | Dashboards, scans, rankings, sentiment, sources, and topics. |
| Prompts | Prompts | Buyer questions Grenseo asks AI platforms during each scan. |
Competitors and business context come from Project settings—especially Competitors, which power head-to-head charts and industry rankings.
How a scan works
- Prompts — Each scan runs your active prompts (buyer-style questions). If you have none yet, Grenseo can generate starter prompts from your project niche.
- Probes — For each prompt, Grenseo queries enabled AI models (web-search style probes). Probes can take up to ~90 seconds each; a full scan often finishes in 2–5 minutes.
- Signals — Grenseo records whether your brand was mentioned, whether your site was cited, sentiment, competitor mentions, and source URLs the model relied on.
- History — Results are stored per run so you can compare mention rate, visibility score, and share of voice over time.
On paid plans, Grenseo can also run automated daily scans overnight and trigger a first scan after checkout so you do not start from an empty chart.
Use Run scan on AEO Insights any time you want a fresh snapshot after updating prompts or publishing new content.
AEO Insights tabs
Open AEO Insights and switch tabs at the top of the page.
Visibility
Your executive view:
- Visibility score trend and share of voice vs competitors.
- Industry rankings table—visibility, share of voice, sentiment, and average position.
- Average position when your brand appears in answers.
- Improve visibility / Fix gap actions on weak prompts (see below).
Use the filter bar to change time range, chart interval (for example daily vs weekly rollups), branded vs non-branded prompts, topic, and which brands you compare in charts.
Mentions & Citations
- Mention rate over time across scan runs.
- Breakdown of mentions and citations by platform and prompt.
- Merge or split mention/citation views when you want a single trend line.
Sentiment
- How AI answers feel about your brand—positive, neutral, or negative.
- Head-to-head sentiment vs competitors on the latest run.
- Drill into individual probe results when you need the full answer text.
Sources
- Domains and URLs AI models cite most often when answering your prompts.
- Open a source to preview scraped page content and see why a URL might be winning citations.
Use this tab to spot third-party listicles, docs, or competitors that dominate citations—and plan content or outreach accordingly.
Topics
- How visibility is distributed across topic clusters tied to your prompts.
- Topic rankings and distribution tables to see which themes you own vs where you are invisible.
Assign topics when you create or edit prompts on the Prompts page so filters and topic charts stay meaningful.
Fix gaps with content
When a prompt scores poorly (low visibility or weak citations), use Fix gap / Improve visibility from the Visibility tab or from a prompt’s detail drawer:
- Grenseo suggests article ideas grounded in the prompt and your project context.
- You pick a title and description (and adjust slugs if needed).
- Grenseo adds a planner item so you can generate and publish content aimed at that AI query.
After the article is live, run another scan to see whether mention and citation rates move.
Prompts (tracking questions)
Prompts are the questions Grenseo sends to AI platforms. Good prompts mirror how buyers search—comparisons, alternatives, “best X for Y,” and definitional queries.
On Prompts you can:
- Create, edit, and archive prompts.
- Mark prompts as branded (explicitly about you) or non-branded (category-level questions).
- Organize prompts under topics with colors for filtering in AEO Insights.
- See visibility score, average position, sentiment, and optional volume / difficulty hints per prompt.
- Open a detail drawer for per-prompt history, probe results, and follow-up actions.
Statuses: Active prompts run on scans; Proposed and Archived prompts are excluded until you activate them.
If the prompt list is empty, use Generate starter prompts (also offered from AEO Insights) to seed a baseline set from your industry, competitors, and language.
Tips for accurate tracking
- Keep competitors up to date in project settings so share-of-voice and rankings reflect your real market.
- Mix branded and non-branded prompts—category queries often matter more for discovery than “What is [YourBrand]?”
- Re-run scans after meaningful content publishes or prompt changes; use 30-day ranges for week-over-week trends.
- Pair AI visibility with Search Console (when connected) to compare AI citations with classic Google queries.
Search Console
Under Analytics → Search Console, connect Google Search Console for the same project to review queries, landing pages, countries, and site health alongside AI visibility.
Search Console reflects Google organic search; AEO Insights reflects generative AI answers. Use both when prioritizing content.
