Custom articles

Add your own planner topics in Grenseo—create custom articles, paid-plan limits, UTC monthly quotas, and how they differ from auto suggestions.

Custom articles in Grenseo are planner items you add yourself from the content planner. In product data they can be stored as source custom, online_source, or youtube (depending on how you created the idea). They use the same planner model as Planner articles (title, slug, optional description, schedule, link to generated content)—but you define the idea.

Create custom article

When you use Create custom article, you provide at least a title and slug; you can add a description and optionally set a publish date right away.

Create from an online source (article URL)

From the Create custom article dialog, you can use Ideas from another article:

  • Paste a public blog/article URL (must be a valid http(s) URL).
  • Grenseo scrapes the page and proposes a small set of grounded ideas (title, description, slug).
  • Choose Use this idea to add it to your planner; the created planner item stores source and saves it.

If the page can’t be scraped (for example it blocks scrapers, requires login, or has little readable content), you’ll need to try another URL.

Create from YouTube (transcript ideas)

Grenseo can also generate grounded ideas from a YouTube transcript.

Characteristics

  • You own the idea — Title, slug, and optional description come from you (with validation such as unique slugs per project).
  • Paid plans only — Custom planner items are not available on the free plan. You need a paid plan to add them.
  • Separate monthly quota — Custom items (including custom, online_source, and youtube) count against a per-project, per-calendar-month limit (in UTC), independent of how many auto items your plan maintains. If you hit the cap, you can add more after the month rolls over or upgrade for a higher allowance.

Pricing: “custom articles” vs “articles”

  • Custom articles in the app and pricing refers specifically to custom planner rows—your manually added topics—not to auto-suggested ones.
  • Articles more broadly often means generated, full posts from the planner (see Planner articles), which can include content from both auto and custom topics once you generate.

Plan limits at a glance

Limits can change; always check Pricing in the app for live numbers.

AreaFreeTypical paid behavior
Custom planner itemsNot includedAllowed up to a monthly cap per project (UTC month), tier-dependent
Auto planner fillLimited pool and cadenceSee Planner articles for how auto topics fill the calendar.

Custom monthly caps are enforced when you create a custom item.

UTC month for custom items

Custom article monthly limits reset on UTC calendar months (not necessarily your local timezone’s midnight). If you are close to a limit at month-end, the exact rollover moment follows UTC.

Practical tips

  • Use custom items for one-off campaigns or ideas that auto suggestions did not cover.
  • Schedule by dragging items on the calendar when you want to change publish dates; the planner keeps one item per day where that rule applies.
  • If creation of a custom item is blocked, check whether you are on a paid plan, whether you have remaining custom slots this UTC month, and whether the slug is already used in the project.
  • Planner articles — auto-filled planner topics and how they share the same planner model.
  • Project settings — context that still shapes generation for any topic.
  • In the app, open your project’s content planner to use Create custom article and the calendar.
